As a young kid in the early 70's, Tiburon Tommies was my favorite
restaurant. I can't remember much about it except that it felt like Disneyland
in Marin. There was a lot of bamboo, tiki statues and a waterfall flowing
beneath a staircase. It was my first experience with deep-fried butterfly
shrimp and I can still vividly remember the bright red dipping sauce.
October 23, 2006: Valenta de Regil, daughter of Tiburon Tommies designer
Salvador de Regil contacted www.MarinNostalgia.org by email, hoping to
find some interior pictures of the restaurant. Unfortunately, we don't have
any yet beyond a postcard provided by the Tiburon Landmark Society.
Perhaps if you have any interior pictures of T.T. in your personal photo
collections, you could please contact us. Thanks!
January 28, 2007: Thanks to Rick and Candy Mendell of Corte Madera
(owners of Rick's Wine Cellar), we now have some great interiors of the
restaurant and some of the staff. Keep those pictures coming!!!
